For many Indigenous job seekers, especially those living with disabilities, employment barriers are not always recognized or understood by settler organizations. Overcoming these challenges requires more than policies; it requires partnerships rooted in trust, respect, and cultural understanding. This workshop will provide service providers with the tools and knowledge to: ✅ Build meaningful relationships with Indigenous job seekers and communities ✅ Support employers in inclusive recruitment and retention practices ✅ Explore colonial structures and cultural barriers that affect access to services ✅ Learn from real-world collaborations between service providers and Indigenous organizations ✅ Apply actionable practices inspired by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and research from Northern Canada By integrating these strategies, participants will strengthen their ability to: Advance reconciliation within employment services Incorporate Indigenous perspectives into workplace inclusion Build resilient, equitable organizations that reflect the diversity of Canada’s talent It’s time to take intentional steps toward workplaces that recognize and celebrate Indigenous knowledge, voices, and contributions.
