Platform Calgary is a non-profit, member based organization. Our mandate is to bring together the resources of Calgary's tech ecosystem to help startups launch and grow at every step of their journey, from ideation through to scale.
More about Platform CalgaryPlatform Calgary hosted a milestone celebration together with donors, partners and founders to celebrate reaching a foundational capital fundraising goal, and to announce a major corporate partnership.
Prominent members of Calgary’s tech sector and investment community have come together to donate $5 million in foundational capital towards a goal of $7 million. The reinvestment in Calgary’s economy through Platform sets the stage for supporting innovators looking to start, scale and create jobs of the future in Calgary. Thanks to this group of city builders, the Platform Innovation Centre will be ready to open its doors to the next generation of tech entrepreneurs in early 2022.
“We are deeply grateful for the generous support and community commitment from our donors, partners, and founders as we complete Calgary’s Platform Innovation Centre,” says Dr. Terry Rock, President and CEO of Platform Calgary. “This is an important milestone for us on the road to the Platform Innovation Centre becoming Calgary’s home for innovators. Together, we are well on our way to meeting our goal of creating 30,000 new tech jobs in Calgary at 3,000 companies for 2031.”
Platform is also pleased to announce that the Calgary KPMG office, a resident Pillar Team member, is making a long-term commitment to the city’s tech sector as the sponsor of the KPMG Pitch Stage. The KPMG Pitch Stage will provide entrepreneurs and businesses with a fully immersed digital first-hand experience where they will be able to broadcast to audiences across the globe. In the new year, KPMG will launch the Ignition Centre, an environment dedicated to thinking and working differently, within the Platform Innovation Centre.
“The KPMG Pitch Stage is an exciting venue that will be the literal platform for Calgary startup founders. We are proud to be part of it and support the growth of the tech industry in Calgary and do our part to help businesses, from startups to large corporates, innovate, disrupt, and grow.” says Murray Suey, Regional Managing Partner at KPMG in Calgary.

For Ecosystem Builders
We’re excited to introduce the inaugural cohort of the Platform Pre-Accelerator — a group of founders building solutions across healthcare, construction, transportation, agriculture, e-commerce, and more. This 9-week, in-person, execution-first program is designed for founders who have moved beyond the idea stage and are actively testing their product in-market — working to define their ideal customer, validate demand, and build a repeatable path to early traction. The cohort brings together Calgary-based founders who are building, experimenting, and working to turn early progress into structured, consistent execution.

For Startups
At the March Community Connect, we brought together founders and scaling sales leaders for a practical conversation on how AI is reshaping modern revenue systems.Featuring Abbas Sarraf (Co-Founder & CPO, Aimsio) and Dennis Hale (VP Sales, Aimsio), moderated by Stephen Wensley (CEO, Acuspire), the session cut through the noise and focused on what’s actually working today. And the message was clear:AI isn’t about replacing sales teams. It’s about building better sales and marketing systems for scale.
